Courses | Disarming Darkness | “Why Jesus Appeared to Us” | Kingdom Learners

SO, Why did Jesus come to the world?

1 John 3:8 says, The Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil? Notice, Jesus didn’t come to just neutralize all the works of the devil, he came to DESTROY them. The thief that came to steal, kill, and destroy, has been DESTROYED by Jesus Christ. Murder, lying, cheating, leading us away from God, the original sin of Adam, and the bondage of sin, JESUS DESTROYED IT ALL

Colossians 2:14-15 says, He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Colossians 1:13-14, says For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

He came to redeem us. He came to wipe away our stained souls.
HE RESCUED US COMPLETELY FROM THE DOMINION OF DARKNESS!

Colossians 2:10 says, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. He is the head of ALL power and authority. All the fullness of God was placed in Christ, and he has transferred that to us (see Colossians 1:13)

Luke 4:18 says, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised

God ordained him to preach, say, speak the Good news to those who were poor in spirit, mind, emotions, finances…THAT IS ALL OF US

He ordained Him to heal the brokenhearted – physical, spiritual, disease, sickness…
God ordained him to preach Deliverance to the captives – Another word for deliverance is salvation, which comes through Christ. The only way to be set free (out of captivity) is to have Christ break us away from the demonic oppression. That is what deliverance is all about.

God ordained Christ to Recover the sight to the blind – to recover what we were intended to see in the first place–His kingdom. We were born with the capacity to see into the kingdom realm, and that is what Christ does. Demons want us to see fear, anger, all things of darkness, but those who have sight see the kingdom of light and into the 2nd heaven.

God ordained Christ to set at liberty them who are bruised. Freedom is the absence of bondage, but liberty is knowing that we are free. What bruise is he talking about? The bruise is the place where demons live. How do we get bruised? It starts early on. Lies pile up, our identity is tainted, we see into the world and not the kingdom any longer and we start to build a stronghold (fortress) around the bruise. Christ came to give us liberty from these bruises so we can worship the Father, not the bruise.

Thanks for joining us, and I hope this helps you see all the ways that Christ is seated far above any other ruler, authority, principality, or worker of darkness.

Join is in the last class as we begin discussing all the ways that we can put this into practice, to not just be a learner of God’s word, but a doer!
